what does alienated mean ?

via fuck yeah junko mizuno and "smile" googling

she is a marxist :

"Marx’s concept of alienation applies to emotional labor as well. The concept of emotional labor is usually attributed to the work of a sociologist named Arlie Russell Hochschild.

What is alienated labor? Marx’s theory of alienation deals with the way labor is used under capitalism. Under capitalism, workers are alienated from the products of their labor. Their labor, their life work is utterly disconnected from that which they produce. In previous societies, people produced to consume, they produced to meet the needs of themselves or their community.

Under capitalism, there is a disconnection between labor and the laborer. People don’t work in car factories because they are using all the cars they produce. They work in a car factory so that they can get a wage, which they can later use to buy other necessities. If they want a car, they have to save up their wages and then one day buy one.

With emotional labor, we are alienated from our emotions in a similar way. Emotional labor is kind of like acting. It is acting that is untrue on some level or other. Some examples of jobs that require a lot of emotional labor are airline attendants, bank tellers, waitresses, etc. In other words, emotional laborers are people who have to exhibit a certain emotion as part of their work. These people perform this emotion not because they feel it, but because they are required to by their job. Its a performance."

Stop assuming you know

the more i work on my own stereotypical perceptions, the more i want to destroy everything. i keep repeating to myself that i need to show my own failures in order to share critical tools. it creates strong discomfort and nausea if we change the lenses we wear for ages. it takes courage to face how much we are full of disguised hate feelings. writing down new resolutions is a way to imagine futures. i keep on looking for multiple different realities and stop assuming i know.

I can’t pretend I don’t have some rotting branches; we can’t pretend our privileges don’t exist just because we do not like them. To relinquish the power they hold, we have to constantly expose them for what they are,” Grandma Willow concluded, and gave John a pat on the back with one of her drooping branches. via cuntofdoom

Combien pour ma culotte sale?

Sytnerveux
